ABOUT US

Jhardufae Norwegian Forest Cats: n 1 mystical; spiritual; fairy cats. 2 cats; majestic felines. 3 felis catus; any wild animal of the family Felidae, e.g. a lion, a tiger, or leopard. 4 part of the family. 5 an intelligent, loyal, friend for life…

The 'jhardufae' prefix, under which I breed, loosely means, in Prussian, 'Mystical Fairy'- and we hope this gives an indication of the beauty and mystery of the Norwegian Forest Cat. They are often referred to in Norway as woodland fairies because of their tendency to appear through the trees and seemingly silently disappear.

I live in North Yorkshire on the outskirts of a small village called Escrick, half way between York and Selby. It is a nice, rural location - perfect for our cats to look out onto the fields. We also share our home with with our elderly collie cross - Kimba, 13 year old GSD - India, - Chip - a 3 year old Border Collie and Pi - a 2 year old Welsh Sheepdog, Salt- a 1 year old Collie Cross from 'Many Tears Rescue Centre', Ice - a 4 year old Border Collie, Rat - a 7month old Italian Greyhound, and Freeze- a 6 month old Border Collie.
